Do you know 3 excellent ways to develop yourself

Have you ever met someone who read a self-help book and by the next week has completely incorporated it into their life and is already benefiting enormously from its advice? In contrast, someone else might read the same book, apply nothing, and suffer.
Here are three tips to help you experience more benefits from self-improvement insights:
1. Approach self-improvement like a software engineer
You’re a software engineer and your code doesn’t work. I try to understand why, but I get stuck. In response, we reduce the system to its simplest parts, add error logging, test simpler versions, and debug as necessary. Once you’re confident that that part works, start adding other components back to the code, repeating the same process. Repeat until you have fully working code that does everything you need.
People who struggle to benefit from self-improvement advice often lack the patience or mindset to apply this strategic, systematic approach. For engineers, this process is second nature. Iterative improvement, eliminating systems, making each part work, and building back up are mental models that engineers naturally apply on a regular basis.
To reap the benefits of self-improvement, focus on getting one part of the system working first. Improve and master this before moving on to the next part. If you’re having trouble, try breaking down the parts of the system you want to debug into smaller chunks.
2. Encourage pattern recognition for better knowledge transfer.
Knowledge transfer is the biggest challenge in learning. We fail to apply our insights and solutions to new situations. This tendency is thought to have an evolutionary basis. If you know a berry is safe, it would be dangerous to assume that a slightly different berry is safe. Therefore, we evolved to have what is called Narrow generalization slope.
However, research has shown that simply asking someone to consider whether a problem is similar to another problem they already understand and can solve improves knowledge transfer.
You’ve probably heard of this classic problem. The guys were tasked with figuring out how to use radiation to destroy tumors. A single high-intensity radiation beam not only destroys the tumor, but also harms surrounding healthy tissue. Tumor problems are addressed using multiple low-intensity radiation beams aimed from different directions that focus the force on the tumor without damaging healthy tissue.
Even when people are told the answer to their oncology problem, they still have difficulty applying their knowledge to similar problems. Example: A general wants to attack a fortress, but he cannot send all of his troops through a single heavily guarded road without being easily discovered. The solution is to divide the army into smaller groups and send them down different roads to converge on the fort at the same time. Naturally, few people see this solution, but people’s success increases dramatically if they know the solution to the tumor problem and explicitly ask if there is a connection between the two problems.
Bottom line: When you learn self-improvement principles from a book or blog post, you should ask yourself repeatedly and often to consider whether they are relevant to new problems you need to solve, decisions big and small, and different contexts and situations. What we face in everyday life
3. Use personalized guidance with an AI chatbot to integrate insights about yourself into your daily work.
To support knowledge transfer, use your favorite AI chat tool to address decisions and challenges. Provide custom instructions to remind them of which patterns you want to change and which new patterns you want to practice.
Custom instructions are like super prompts. These are personalized settings that you provide to the AI ??to help shape how it continually interacts with you. This is different from a regular prompt, which is a one-time question asked to the AI ??during a conversation. Custom instructions are used to influence each specific interaction.
If you want to change a pattern or implement self-help advice, tell AI those goals through custom instructions. For example, to prevent distractions from your larger vision, you can set custom guidelines like this: “I may be distracted from my core goals by new opportunities or compromises with others. Don’t lose sight of yourself. Compromise with others or achieve your goals in a way that undermines yours.” When you see evidence of this, remind yourself of this pattern and encourage your focus. [tell it your goals, big vision].”

Final Thoughts: Applying Self-Improvement Strategies Effectively
There is a lot of great self-help advice in the book and here on the website. P.T.. Applying it consistently can be difficult. This is especially true if you are already feeling overwhelmed or struggling. However, using a few specific strategies can help you be much more successful and reduce your stress burden. Try the techniques shared here to better apply what you’ve learned to your life.
