PARIS (Reuters) – France’s health regulator has non-stop an exploration into acne drug Diane-35, that is also used as a contraceptive, after 4 deaths related to a drug in a past 25 years.
Health regulator ANSM pronounced on Sunday that Diane-35, constructed by German drugmaker Bayer, is certified in 135 countries and sole in some-more than 116. Last year about 325,000 women in France used a drug, ANSM said, adding it would tell a news subsequent week.
ANSM pronounced a 4 deaths were due to thrombosis related to a use of Diane-35. Three other deaths presumably connected to a drug, reported by a media, were related to other health issues, a group said.
Diane-35, also sole as Dianette in some countries, reduces acne for women by controlling hormones, according to several medical websites. The drug is also used as a contraceptive.
Earlier this month, ANSM pronounced it was study a probability of tying a use of third- and fourth-generation preventive pills after a lady sued Bayer over purported side-effects such as embolism, or blood clots.
