It’s Ok to Cry – Places We Hide

cryingwomancrpdSome of us cry in our cars on the way home from a bad day, some of us cry in our bed in the middle of the night, and some of us swallow our tears and you must as yourself, why?  Society tends to frown on tears.  Crying can be thought to be a sign of weakness, or make people feel uncomfortable.

Crying is strength.  Crying is just as therapeutic as laughing, when you laugh real hard, you cry. There is a reason for the similarity of that physical manifestation of emotion.  Think about it, you don’t stifle your laughter, so why would you stifle your tears?

It’s important to embrace our emotions and let them breathe, let them be released to help you let your sadness, or frustrations, or depression go.

It’s essential to release your tears as they come.  It’s hazardous to hold back, and it’s not fair to your emotions to hide inside.  Be respectful of your tears.  Don’t be embarrassed of your humanity. It’s what makes us real, and allows us to tap into our heart, and heal our mind.

POEM: I HAD A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN TODAY

I had a nervous breakdown today

And then out of nowhere

There was a great idea.

Sit in the shower

Sit on the floor

And let the water come down

While you cry

In the stream.

It’s so much easier

Then whipping away tears

Or shutting off your nose

With a quick swipe of the hand.

It’s cleansing

It’s me

Draining into the floor

The plunging persistent

Harsh warm water

Sprinkles down my body

Away from my pain.

I think from now on

When I am depressed

I’ll crawl to the bathroom

And turn on the cold

To wake myself up

Out of myself.

And they are apparently too stupid to realize how easy it is to ensure they are called out for their bad behavior.
