Tributes have been paid to a ‘wonderful girl and model student’ who died while rowing on the Thames.
Rosie Mitchell, 15, was rowing on Saturday when she is understood to have ‘collapsed and fallen unconscious’ at around 9am.
Despite efforts by paramedics to revive the teenager, she was rushed to hospital but died later that day.

Last night friends and family laid scores of flowers, candles, notes and photographs outside Kingston Rowing Club, Surrey, to pay their respects.
In a statement, the club said: ‘There was a tragic occurrence at Kingston Rowing Club on Saturday morning, September 17, when Rosie Mitchell collapsed and lost consciousness while rowing.

Grey Court School in Richmond, west London, said Rosie was a ‘model student’.

A school spokesman said: ‘Unfortunately we were informed on Saturday of the tragic death of one of our Year 11 students.
‘Rosie Mitchell died suddenly whilst rowing for Kingston Rowing club.
‘Rosie was a wonderful girl and a model student in every way.
‘She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
‘Our thoughts and wishes are with her family at this difficult time.’

A police spokesperson said: ‘We were called on Saturday September 17 shortly before 9.10am to a teenager taken ill at Lower Ham Road.
‘Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service.
‘A 15-year-old girl was found unresponsive at the location and taken to a west London hospital where she died a short time later.
‘The incident is not being treated as suspicious.’
