A 65-year-old woman has opened up about her terrifying near-death ordeal after undergoing a cleansing detox treatment.
Pamela Kilah, from Brisbane, was left with excruciating pain mid-way through colonic irrigation – a health fad that helps detoxify the body and banishes bloating.
The treatment, which has been long endorsed by many Hollywood stars, involves flushing out the contents of the intestines via tubes pumped with water.
But the procedure was far from glamorous for the Australian mother who has been struggling to walk since she was hospitalised about a year ago.

‘[The] fourth time, I yelled, I raised my voice and yelled [for an ambulance],’ she said.
