An instant coffee containing ‘natural Viagra’ is taking America by storm.

Stiff Bull Coffee is infused with tongkat ali, maca root and guarana – herbs found in Asia and South America that locals have used as a natural stimulant for centuries.

Unlike Viagra, which stimulates an erection on demand, these herbs are said to naturally enhance a man’s hormones, stimulating a natural erection.

Now the substances have been blended into an instant coffee available in the US, and more than 200,000 men a month order online shipments of the beverage.

But the FDA warns tests on the product show it contains a chemical that could dangerously lower men’s heart rates.

One cup will make a man feel energized, fueling the hormones that make you feel aroused, stimulating a natural erection, according to the firm’s president Keith Hanson.

‘It’s almost like a fountain of youth for sex,’ Hanson told Daily Mail Online.

‘It increases your stamina for sex and gives you energy, not just an erection.

‘With Stiff Bull coffee it works with your body, enhances your body and your hormones.

‘Men who use Viagra will have a false erection even if they’re not stimulated.’

According to Hanson, it does not always have to be used for sex.

Some of his clients drink a cup before a workout, to capitalize on the energy they get from the maca root.

That natural energy boost, he says, merely opens your body to feeling sexually aroused, rather than forcing your body to produce an unnatural erection.

‘With Viagra, you may be getting groceries and you get an erection in the grocery store,’ Hanson scoffs.

‘That doesn’t happen with Stiff Bull.’

However, if it sounds to good to be true, it may be.

As demand soars in the United States, health officials warn the product could lead to potentially fatal health complications.

Tests carried out by the Food and Drug Administration found batches of Stiff Bull also contained desmethyl carbodenafil.

Desmethyl carbodenafil is structurally similar to Viagra’s active ingredient sildenafil.

It could lower men’s heart rate to dangerously low levels, the FDA warns.

The FDA said in a statement: ‘This undeclared ingredient may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels.

‘Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates.’

Reacting to the FDA warning, a spokesman for Stiff Bull said the tests were carried out on a rogue batch, and that they have now switched supplier.

‘We changed manufacturers a month ago. None of the consumers will get the tainted batch.

‘It is an alternative to Viagra. Our focus and mission is to stay clear of that. We have had no complaints from customers and no side-affects associated with Viagra.’
