This dark period soon overtook the women\u2019s relationship as sisters.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t want to be around her,\u201d Linda says of Lisa. \u201cI was ashamed that I was envious, I was ashamed that I needed that attention or affirmation. It was this duality of emotions.\u201d<\/p>\n
For Lisa, the change in their relationship became painful as well. \u201cIf felt like rejection,\u201d she says, still emotional. \u201cIt just formed a wall between us. It was really hard.\u201d<\/p>\n
But Lisa couldn\u2019t watch her sister sink any lower and decided she was going to be there for Linda ? literally. \u201cNothing felt good, but Lisa glued herself to me. She came and sat on the couch with me, laid in the bed with me,\u201d Linda recalls. \u201cI started having these pockets of light, and this hope. I needed to hear that it will be OK.\u201d<\/p>\n
Today, the twins\u2019 relationship is a solid one. They both still live in Atlanta with their respective families and say that they are closer than ever. Through their journeys, they\u2019ve each learned valuable lessons about themselves and about life.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve learned that you never know what\u2019s going on behind the eyes of someone,\u201d Linda says.<\/p>\n
Adds Lisa, \u201cI really trust that God has purpose in every moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
