Trump said he would be doing \u201cspectacular things\u201d with Ryan and Senate leader Mitch McConnell.<\/p>\n

During the race, both Ryan and McConnell routinely condemned their nominee.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI regret those comments that he made,\u201d Ryan previously said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI expressed my disapproval over and over and over again,\u201d McConnell had said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Their new detente is a fragile one.<\/p>\n
