{"id":63528,"date":"2015-12-31T19:25:55","date_gmt":"2015-12-31T19:25:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/healthmedicinet.com\/i\/daily-meditation-set-an-intention\/"},"modified":"2015-12-31T19:25:55","modified_gmt":"2015-12-31T19:25:55","slug":"daily-meditation-set-an-intention","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/healthmedicinet.com\/i\/daily-meditation-set-an-intention\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Meditation: Set An Intention"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ALL SOULS BY EDITH WHARTON\n<\/p>\n<p>I<br \/>A THIN moon faints in the sky o\u00e2\u20ac\u2122erhead,<br \/>And dumb in the churchyard lie the dead.<br \/>Walk we not, Sweet, by garden ways,<br \/>Where the late rose hangs and the phlox delays,<br \/>But forth of the gate and down the road,<br \/>Past the church and the yews, to their dim abode.<br \/>For it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s turn of the year and All Souls\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 night,<br \/>When the dead can hear and the dead have sight.<\/p>\n<p>II<br \/>Fear not that sound like wind in the trees:<br \/>It is only their call that comes on the breeze;<br \/>Fear not the shudder that seems to pass:<br \/>It is only the tread of their feet on the grass;<br \/>Fear not the drip of the bough as you stoop:<br \/>It is only the touch of their hands that grope \u00e2\u20ac\u201c<br \/>For the year\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s on the turn, and it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s All Souls\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 night,<br \/>When the dead can yearn and the dead can smite.<\/p>\n<p>III<br \/>And where should a man bring his sweet to woo<br \/>But here, where such hundreds were lovers too?<br \/>Where lie the dead lips that thirst to kiss,<br \/>The empty hands that their fellows miss,<br \/>Where the maid and her lover, from sere to green,<br \/>Sleep bed by bed, with the worm between?<br \/>For it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s turn of the year and All Souls\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 night,<br \/>When the dead can hear and the dead have sight.<\/p>\n<p>IV<br \/>And now that they rise and walk in the cold,<br \/>Let us warm their blood and give youth to the old.<br \/>Let them see us and hear us, and say: \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcAh, thus<br \/>In the prime of the year it went with us!\u00e2\u20ac\u2122<br \/>Till their lips drawn close, and so long unkist,<br \/>Forget they are mist that mingles with mist!<br \/>For the year\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s on the turn, and it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s All Souls\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 night,<br \/>When the dead can burn and the dead can smite.<\/p>\n<p>V<br \/>Till they say, as they hear us \u00e2\u20ac\u201c poor dead, poor dead!
