Pictured:\u00a0A healthcare worker gives a Covid-19 test to a medical staffer near Halyk Arena in Almaty, Kazakhstan, July 5<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The embassy has described the illness as an &#8216;unknown pneumonia&#8217; despite officials in Kazakhstan saying it is merely a pneumonia epidemic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">It&#8217;s currently unclear why the Chinese embassy has described the pneumonia as &#8216;unknown&#8217; or any information it has about the outbreak.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;The death rate of this disease is much higher than the novel coronavirus,&#8217; the embassy wrote in a warning to Chinese citizens in\u00a0Kazakhstan.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018The country\u2019s health departments are conducting comparative research into the pneumonia virus, but have yet to identify the virus.&#8217;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Diplomats urged Chinese nationals to take the same precautions as they were with coronavirus, which originated in Wuhan and has infected more than 12\u00a0 million people around the globe.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">This includes people not leaving their homes unless necessary, wearing a face mask, practicing social distancing and washing hands thoroughly and often.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018Some 300 people diagnosed with pneumonia are being hospitalized every day,&#8217; Saule Kisikova, the health care department chief in Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan, told state news agency Kazinform<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"rotator-panels link-bogr1 linkro-ccox\">\n<li>  <span>Coronavirus death rates are THREE TIMES as high in US&#8230;<\/span> <\/a>  <span>Which mask offers the best protection?
