People Are Freaking Out About This New Avocado At Trader Joe’s

Check out these fun new ways to jazz up your avocado toast:

The “Teeny Tiny Avocados,” as they’re (adorably) labeled, are simply smaller, “single-serve” versions of Hass avocados. They didn’t grow as large as usual because of poor weather conditions in California, such as low rainfall, “erratic bee activity,” and unseasonably cool weather, as NPR in 2013, when another smaller-sized crop was produced.

The good news: The smaller size doesn’t affect these avocados’ quality, and the taste and texture is just about the same as a regular-size version. Even better? This 3-inch size is just right to satisfy your avo-craving, without having to deal with a leftover half going brown in the fridge. So whether you need your avocado fix for a salad, sandwich, soup, or simply want to scoop it straight into your mouth, just one of these single-serving avocados will do the trick! Another perk: While prices vary by store location, a bag of six of these tiny guys should only set you back $2.69—which is less than the usual $1-for-one deal on regular Hass avocados. Now, don’t mind us if we start making Instagram-worthy avocado toast every morning from now on.
