Dr Anton Alexandroff, consultant dermatologist and British Skin Foundation spokesperson, told MailOnline.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;The condition starts at birth or soon after. Babies have red scaly skin and blisters. With time blisters reduce but skin becomes thicker (hyperkeratotic).&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;Skin may smell and there is a higher risk of infections.
