For this reason, the World Anti-Doping Agency has banned athletes from using spironolactone both in and out of competition.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"children\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Children<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the prescribing information, spironolactone is not FDA approved for use in children and adolescents. NSAIDs may also reduce the therapeutic effectiveness of spironolactone.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Drugs that lower blood pressure: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spironolactone lowers blood pressure and is often prescribed along with other blood pressure medications.
