These diagnoses are not uncommon among older adults, so it is not hard to imagine scenarios in which <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gabapentin<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> may be prescribed to seniors. With this in mind, we will focus on cautionary points about <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gabapentin\u2019s side effects<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and negative outcomes from the drug that could pose more risk to older patients.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"common-side-effects-of-gabapentin\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Common side effects of gabapentin\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gabapentin\u2019s common adverse effects fall into two major categories: physical effects like dizziness and cognitive effects like confusion.
