GnRH agonists can be taken for up to six months\u2014they are generally not taken for longer because of the risk of weak bones when taken for long periods of time. A GnRH agonist, such as <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">leuprolide<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, may be prescribed along with a combination birth control pill (a type of birth control pill that contains both an estrogen and a progestin).
