A Strong Gust of Wind Literally Blew This Little Girl Away

From Redbook

When someone says it’s so windy outside that they’re about to be blown away, they’re usually making an obvious joke. But for one little girl, that almost became a reality.

Brittany Gardner shared home surveillance footage to Facebook and Twitter, showing her daughter Madison getting literally picked up and carried by the wind. I’m not sure how this is even physically possible, but go ahead and take a look for yourself.

“It sure is windy out there! All I hear is ‘mommm!’ So I looked back and she’s pinned between the house and the glass door,” Gardner captioned the video. “She is okay and laughing along with it!”

Madison’s mom got a little cute with the video editing, setting Frank Sinatra’s very appropriate “Come Fly With Me” (partially obscured by the really loud wind) as the background music. In the 9-second clip, the 4-year-old girl runs up to the front door of her house, reaching for the door handle just as a big gust of wind hits. The door blows wide open, taking a startled Madison with it. At least she had the wherewithal to hang on for dear life!

The Ohio mom told News 5 that she looked up to see her daughter “pinned against the siding and the glass door” and then ran over “to unlatch her from the handle.” Madison wasn’t hurt, but Gardner said that her daughter was at first scared and then a little embarrassed, though she later laughed when she saw the footage. Clearly, other people find it just as funny – since Gardner posted the sure-to-be-memed viral video, it’s racked up over half a million views and has been shared nearly 8,000 times on Facebook alone.
