It may not seem that out of the ordinary, but her look marks a definite departure from the dresses and skirts most women wore on air when Roger Ailes, former Fox News CEO, was in charge. (He passed away last month after being forced out of the network due to sexual harassment allegations from Gretchen Carlson and other former female employees.) Back in April, a former Fox anchor, Jedediah Bila, even tweeted, “I was told repeatedly that pants weren’t an option,” after opening up to The View about her experience on the network.

However, a Fox News spokesperson told Women’s Health, “There is no dress code and there has never been an edict against women wearing pants on air.” In fact, Ainsley has worn pants on Fox News several times before.
