At a time when most mothers to be would be at home with their feet up, this pregnant woman instead chooses to do some serious weightlifting in the gym.

The unnamed woman, who is just one month away from giving birth, was filmed in Arvada, Colorado, and footage sees her demonstrating how to do the perfect split jerk with a 99lb weight.

Despite her growing bump, she appears to have no trouble lifting the weight well above her head.

In the 23-second video the woman can be seen performing three impressive split jerks before the camera.

As the video was filmed in April, the woman would have by now welcomed her daughter or son , but judging by her toned physique in the footage, she is unlikely to be struggling with any baby weight.

However, despite the mother-to-be’s impressive performance, experts suggest that lifting such a heavy weight during gestation could be dangerous.

Raul Artal, lead author of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ guidelines for exercise and pregnancy says that weightlifting is fine when limited.

Raul told Women’s Health  that it is safe to lift 30lbs (13kg) of weight (or one 15lb – 6kg -dumbbell in each hand) if you’re pregnant.

This would mean that the mother was lifting a weight almost eight times to heavy than the ones suggested.
