IFCC enhances quality of diagnosis and therapy to improve clinical outcomes for patients worldwide

The International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) is an organization of 90 Full Members National Societies, 12 Affiliate Members National Societies and 46 Corporate Members serving laboratory professionals worldwide and representing 45,000 laboratory medicine specialists world-wide.

Our mission is to be the leading organization in the field of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine worldwide.

Through leadership, collaboration and innovation in science and education IFCC enhances the scientific level and the quality of diagnosis and therapy, so improving clinical outcomes for patients throughout the world. This is achieved by providing a forum for standardization of laboratory methods and by expanding scientific, educational and managerial services within laboratory medicine through publications, scientific meetings, and specialized conferences.

The IFCC Membership includes:
•Full Members that are recognised and established national or area societies of clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine.
•Corporate Members, that are individual companies, corporate entities or research establishments concerned with the field of clinical laboratory practice.
•Affiliate Members, that are allied international or national societies or groupings interested in the science and practice of laboratory medicine.

The Operational structure of IFCC consists of an Executive Board (EB), three Divisions (Div) which carry out their tasks via Committees and Working Groups (WG), and Task Forces (TF). Officers of the EB (president, president elect, secretary, treasurer and members) are elected by the IFCC Council. Membership in Div, Cs, WGs and TFs is by application and open to nominations by IFCC members when a call for nominations is issued.

The official scientific journal of IFCC is the eJIFCC, the electronic Journal of IFCC. The IFCC publishes recommendations and documents in a formal collaboration with the journal Clinica Chimica Acta (CCA) and other international journals in the field. All IFCC publications are copyrighted by IFCC.
