Meet Norbert! The Tiny & Adorable Therapy Dog Helping Sick Kids

The Doctors have a very special visitor who helping to make the lives of sick kids a little better.

The one and only Norbert, the 3-pound therapy dog, who is known for his doggie high-fives, joins ER physician Dr. Travis Stork and Plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon on the panel along with his owner Julie.

With close to a million followers on social media, the tiny guy is doing very important work with sick patients in need of a little furry friend who can make them smile. He and Julie volunteer at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles as part of their Amerman Family Foundation Dog Therapy Program.

Dr. Ordon notes that even something as simple a high-five from Norbert can have lasting effects on a patient.

“Science shows that high-five right there just helped your blood pressure, your stress levels, your anxiety and you just can’t help but smile,” he says after Norbert high-fives Dr. Stork.

Julie explains that Norbert, who works with the organization Pet Partners, underwent a series of evaluations and she had to pass a test as his handler for him to become a registered therapy dog.
