The Western lifestyle has more than halved the sperm count of men since the 1970s, a study recently revealed.
And stress is believed to play a huge role in why male fertility has declined so rapidly in the US, Europe and Australia.
Now experts are recommending men eat more watercress, which is not only hailed as an aphrodisiac but has been shown to reduce stress levels.
Studies have shown the superfood reduces stress-related damage to DNA and includes many nutrients that can help to maintain sperm count levels.
Eating watercress has also been linked with decreased risk of obesity which could also be a contributing factor in the drop in sperm levels.
