VIDEO: ‘Real progress’ in junior doctor talks

Last-ditch talks to reach a deal on the junior doctors contract in England are being extended into next week.

The government and the doctors’ union have agreed to continue negotiating until Wednesday.

Brendan Barber, chair of the conciliation service Acas who are hosting the talks, said: “Both parties have committed themselves… to highly intensive negotiations in an effort to resolve this long-running dispute”.
