But new research has confirmed once and for all that men do tend to wear the same pair of boxer shorts for days on end.

Dirty clothes could also cause a rash known as contact dermatitis as a result of oils trapped in the fabric rubbing against the skin.
However, the research also found that both genders are washing their jeans too often.
Some 38 per cent of men and 46 per cent of women revealed they put their denim in the washing machine after just five washes.
It is recommended that jeans aren’t frequently freshened due as the colour can fade.
