9 Unexpected New Year’s Resolutions That Helped These Women Lose Weight

“A few years ago, I decided to start writing down everything I ate in a food journal. I quickly realized I was overeating! I was downing about 4,000 calories a day. When I realized that, I started tracking my calorie intake and tried to lower it. Though I’d tried counting calories to lose weight in the past, I never wrote anything down. With food journaling, I learned how to make healthier choices. Then, I started losing weight and feeling healthier! As I started to lose weight, I decided to start incorporating exercise. At first, working out was so hard. I could only do about five to 10 minutes on the elliptical before I was ready to go home. But after my first week of exercise, I weighed myself again and I lost five pounds! I kept working out, and week by week it got a little easier. I could exercise for longer amounts of time and actually started to enjoy it. I did mostly cardio workouts until I reached a plateau halfway through. Then I added weight training, which helped me lose the last 30 pounds!” Tiffany McCoy, lost 100 pounds in eight months
