Backyard inspiration

Decorating for the holidays doesn’t have to mean expensive trips to the store. You might be able to restock your home decor from your own backyard! “Elements from nature are great fall decor,” says Mark Montano, DIY king, author, and host of the Make Your Mark web show. Acorns, twigs, and dried leaves can all be collected, cleaned off, and used for a natural table dressing. Or, if you’re into something more coordinated, try painting them!

By combining twigs, leaves, and branches with a scooped out pumpkin, you can create a perfect autumn centerpiece, great for any table. And don’t forget baby pumpkins! They’re cute, inexpensive, and will transform any surface into a autumnal wonderland.
