Booze increases risk of skin cancer, study claims

Drinking just a glass of white wine each day raises the risk of deadliest form of skin cancer, a study reveals.

It found each daily tipple of sauvignon blanc or pinot grigio raised chances of the disease by 13 percent.

But experts said other forms of alcohol—beer, red wine, and hard spirits—did not significantly affect melanoma risk.

Scientists believe compounds released when wine is broken down by the body are to blame.
