Biliary atresia is a life-threatening condition in infants in which the bile ducts inside or outside the liver do not have normal openings.

Her mum Kylie says the entire family is inspired by Indi’s strength.

She starts kindergarten next year and enjoys playing soccer, running around the backyard and dancing with her big sister.

‘Just creating general havoc like any kid her age,’ she told AAP.

‘We didn’t realise how life threatening her condition was until she was 10 days old, but she’s been sick since she was born and taken it all in her stride.’

Her dad Mat, a professional photographer, has taken photos of Indi dressed as a boxer in a bid to pay homage to all the anonymous organ donors and their families.

‘Because of them, my daughter has been given a second chance at life,’ Mat said.

Sunday is DonateLife Thankyou Day – an opportunity for Australian’s to acknowledge living and deceased organ and tissue donations that save and transform the lives of others.
