The awesome inclusivity comes from Khloe’s own frustrations with not being a sample size, she says. “I never considered myself fat, but when I used to shop with my sisters I was always really shamed and shunned by [sales assistants] who would say: ‘We don’t carry that size here’…I was always so embarrassed, so for a long time I didn’t wear denim at all,” said Khloe, continuing that a lot of celebrity stylists would refuse to work with her because she didn’t fit their usual size mold. “Once I lost weight, the same people would reach out, and be like, ‘We would love to style you,’” she said. “I was like, ‘Screw you.’” Can we get a praise-hands emoji?

Khloe’s aversion to the “plus-size” label is part of a larger movement that’s (finally) taking the fashion world by storm. Last year “plus-size” model Ashley Graham penned a powerful essay stating “I am more than my measurements.” Shortly after, Project Runway’s Tim Gunn wrote an essay for The Washington Post calling out top designers for not including women of all sizes in their runway shows and clothing lines.

In her interview, Khloe also opened up about her relationship with basketball player Tristan Thompson, empahsizing their shared values. “Tristan’s morals and ethics are everything I’ve wanted and need in my life,” she said. “He accepts who I am.” Amen to that.
