Microsoft Band and Health steps up its perks

Microsoft Band and Health users are in store for some major upgrades and new functions, announced general manager of new devices Matt Barlow on Wednesday.

Starting on April 23, Microsoft Band customers will be able to share cycling data with popular cycling apps such as MapMyRide and Strava.

Microsoft has also been working to improve the way it displays health data to users. As early as April 27, a variety of “health insights” will be visible on the personalized Web Dashboard. This includes everything from knowing the number of steps taken and how well the body restores iself during sleep to which day or even time of day the user performs best.

For those without a fitness tracking wearable device, Microsoft Health will now be able to step in and help with tracking calorie burn. Within a couple of weeks, the app will be able to collect such data using the sensors in many Android Phones, iPhones and Windows Phones.
