My Map for Reducing World Stress

Stress is a killer. We hear this day in and day out. Yes, there is the knowledge that there is good stress and bad stress. But what about the stress that is created in our world? That is not always good stress. If we allow it to infiltrate our spirit we may have nothing much to offer but negative comment. That is where the majority of stress comes from: embracing the negative aspects of our time on earth from not just one place within our personal environment, but from the WORLD. That is one hefty stress tab to have to deal with on a daily basis.

Often, while we strive to follow the positive, we can not help but be met with adversity. That is why we react the way we do, It’s why people bully and it’s why there is so much global tension. But you do not have to allow that negativity to reside within you, depressing your spirit. There are several avenues available to you. The way I remember these avenues is by the acronym:

MAP: Meditate — Accentuate the positive —Pause to think.

Below is how I personally start to MAP out my day:

1. Meditate with calming music. This is the single action you can take to make your life and health better and lower your stress level. Use your breath and inhale new life into your spirit.
2. Accentuate the positive. Start each day by creating what you want, not what you don’t want. This forms a foundation to move you forward with a vibration that supplies you useful energy to head out into the world.
3. Pause and think . What are you exposing yourself to regarding the news, reading, writing, social media and television? Those feuding housewives, the single men and women vying for dates, and TV bullies that express any kind of violence toward another, should be reconsidered because it will only encourage you to be enraged and reactionary. That’s not good for health or stress, and definitely not good for relationships. For sure, it is not good for the people in those reality roles either.

My MAP may not solve the problem, but it may help you take a first step toward healthier living that can be beneficial to heal our world. That is what we want to do, isn’t it? We want to heal the world, the earth and of course, ourselves!

The above suggestions might not suit you personally, but feel free to experiment. Anything you do to lend your attention to what is good, just and positive, is a way to help reduce the stress heaped on us by the world we live in.
