See What Emma Roberts Looks Like Without Photoshop

We love that Aerie, a line of super cute undergarments, has a strict no-supermodel and no-retouching policy for its #AerieREAL ad campaigns. Now, the brand has released photos of its new spokesperson: Emma Roberts. You have to see the gorgeous, completely Photoshop-free pics that she posted on Instagram yesterday. Check this out:

Emma told Refinery29 that she was excited to partner with Aerie because “unlike other ads that make me feel like I need to work out more or I need to buy this for my face, [the first #aerieREAL ads] made me feel good, not like I had to hide behind anything.”

The American Horror Story actress said she “never felt more confident and comfortable on a set,” despite knowing the photos wouldn’t be retouched. “I saw the photos and was like, ‘You know what? This is great—this is just me in clothes I feel good in, being who I am.’”

But Emma didn’t just partner with Aerie for herself—her 14-year-old sister was on her mind, too. “It’s important for me to be a part of this because I see how hard it is for girls my sister’s age with social media and feeling like they need to look a certain way,” Emma told Refinery29. “I want to promote the idea that it’s okay to look like yourself.”

Emma also said that she’s “honestly surprised more people aren’t jumping on this bandwagon.” But hopefully seeing her beautiful photos will inspire more companies to ease up on the retouching. At the very least, maybe Emma’s ads will lead to a spike in #nofilter Instagram pics—because, as she says, “real is sexy; real is cool.” Here are some more ads from the campaign:

Obviously, Emma’s still gone through hair and makeup—and photo pros know how to set up super flattering lighting. But it’s still refreshing to see a company and a celeb devoted to putting out photos that haven’t been retouched.
