Teenager charged for shooting in mall near Pittsburgh

(Reuters) – Pennsylvania police have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with a shooting that wounded three people, two of them critically, at a Macy’s department store in a mall outside Pittsburgh, local media reported on Sunday.

Tarod Thornhill faces adult charges of aggravated assault, attempted homicide and recklessly endangering other people, according to the Pittsburg Post-Gazette and local television stations.

Police used social media and store surveillance images to locate Thornhill, who was arrested in the early hours of Sunday in a nearby Pennsylvania community, the Post-Gazette reported.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Monroeville Mall outside Pittsburgh.

Police said one of the victims was the target of the shooting, while the other two were apparently bystanders.
