All batch codes of the 360ml product have been recalled in the supermarkets across the country as a result of a manufacturing fault.

A statement by Trading Standards UK read: ‘Bausch + Lomb have identified a potential fault affecting all batch codes of EasySept Hydro + 360ml products.

‘Residual peroxide could potentially remain in the lens case after neutralisation.

‘If the residual hydrogen peroxide is above product specification, the user could experience burning/stinging, irritation, red eye and in rare circumstances other more serious health consequences.

‘Please do not use this product.’

Those who have bought the products affected are being urged to return them to store to receive a full refund.

The supermarket have said no receipt is required and no other products are believed to be affected.

A Tesco spokesperson said: ‘As a precautionary measure, we have recalled a branded Bausch + Lomb product. Customers should return the product to a Tesco store for a full refund.’

Bausch + Lomb have also been approached for comment.
