The Reason Why This Little Girl Is Standing on a Toilet Will Tear You Up Inside

Stacy Wehrman Feeley of Michigan took to Facebook to share a heart-wrenching photo of her 3-year-old. When Feeley happened upon her daughter standing on the toilet in their bathroom and covering her heart, she thought she was just being silly. But when she asked what her daughter was doing, the preschooler told her she was practicing the lockdown drill they had been taught in school in case of an active shooter.

“Politicians—take a look. This is your child, your children, your grandchildren, your great grand children and future generations to come. They will live their lives and grow up in this world based on your decisions,” she says in her post. “They are barely 3 and they will hide in bathroom stalls standing on top of toilet seats. I do not know what will be harder for them: trying to remain quiet for an extended amount of time or trying to keep their balance without letting a foot slip below the stall door?”

Unfortunately, this was the expected result of the vote, although according to the most recent poll numbers, almost 90 percent of Americans supported the measures in question. The Senate is set to vote on a fifth option this week that would ban gun sales to anyone on the nation’s no-fly list, though this is also expected to fail.
