These Foods Might Actually Make Your Sweat Smell Better

The samples were then sniffed by nine women who were asked to judge how rank or pleasant the sweat smelled. 

Here’s what researchers discovered: Men who ate fruits and vegetables smelled the best to women—with some ladies even describing their sweat as “sweet” and “floral.” Women also dug the sweat of men who ate meat, eggs, and soy. But dudes who ate a lot of carbs had the nastiest-smelling sweat.

What’s going on here? Researchers theorize that a guy’s sweat sends signals about his health. Guys who eat more fruits and veggies are likely to be healthier (and better mates, too), which is why they smell better.

Scientists only studied men, but it’s pretty safe to assume that this works both ways. So…pass the fruit bowl.
