This 43-Year-Old Woman Has NEVER Cut Her Hair—See How Long It Is

Yep, she has hair that reaches down past her shins. And at 74 freaking inches long, it almost hits her ankles. Her daughters have also never cut their hair: 11-year-old Callan’s hair is 37 inches long, 9-year-old Cendalyn’s is 36 inches, and 6-year-old Chesney’s is 27 inches. Take a look at the family:

How the heck is it possible to maintain all that? According to an interview Tere Lynn did with Barcroft TV, it’s pricey. The girls use a quarter of a bottle of conditioner each time they wash their hair. And if you thought it took forever to blow-dry your shoulder-length hair…

The girls shampoo their hair in the shower, and Tere Lynn says she’ll stand there with a hand-held sprayer to help rinse the suds out. But Tere Lynn actually can’t shampoo her own hair in the shower. “I tried that once, several years ago, and my hair got so heavy with all of the water that I landed on the shower floor,” she says.

Tere Lynn’s husband digs her long hair, too—he says it was a big draw when they first met as teenagers.

While you’d think all that hair would be split end city, Barcroft TV took the family to a hair salon for the first time for treatments, not cuts, and the salon owner was amazed at how healthy their hair was.

Not everyone in the family wants to be a real-life My Little Pony, though. Chesney says she wants to cut off 10 inches but hasn’t been brave enough to actually do it yet. (Tere Lynn says she’s cool with that, but adds, “I want them to be mature enough to make that decision for themselves.”)

BTW, the family wins blue ribbons at the state fair each year for hair-growing contests. So if you live in Illinois and are thinking about entering a long hair contest…maybe it’s a good idea now to prepare yourself for second place.
