1. What you see is what you get: Do you hold shared viewpoints on the different aspects of your life? Does he lead his life with honesty and integrity? What you see is what you get with a good man. How he lives his life now is a good indicator of how he’ll continue to live with you.

2. You trust him implicitly: Trust and faithfulness are huge in relationships. Generally men want to love, provide, protect and support. Trusting that he’s ‘faithful to me,’ will give you confidence and security in your relationship.

3. He has a cool head in a crisis: Does he keep his cool under pressure or does he explode when things don’t go his way? Is he self-sufficient? If he’s self-sufficient and displays maturity when handling life’s trials and tribulations, it means he’s not looking for you to become his mum.

4. He has ambition: If he’s demonstrated a go-getter attitude, chances are he’ll be a good provider, too.

5. He is kind to everyone: How does he treat you? Does he give you the best seat in the restaurant? How is he around children and the elderly? Kindness inspires confidence, which basically means that if he treats others well, he’ll treat you well, too.

6. You feel safe: Do you feel safe in his presence? Do you feel, that, no matter what happens, he’ll figure out the best course of action? If he cares about your safety and security, you never need to fear because he is looking out for you.

7. He shows generosity: Generosity doesn’t mean dinner plans at an exclusive restaurant every night. His willingness to listen and give you his time are equally as important.

8. Masculinity: How is he around other males? Do other males look up to and respect him? Do his family and friends value his opinions? If he’s a good role model to others, he’ll be a good role model to your children.
