‘We paid £6,000 for IVF add-ons’

Almost none of the so-called “add on” treatments offered by fertility clinics to boost IVF success rates are backed up by scientific research, according to new findings.

The study was commissioned by the BBC’s Panorama, and is also published in the British Medical Journal.

Frankie Bailey-Wheeler and Tom Wheeler told Victoria Derbyshire how they paid £6,000 for fertility “add-on” treatments because of their point of “despair”.

The Victoria Derbyshire programme is broadcast on weekdays between 09:00 and 11:00 on BBC Two and the BBC News Channel.
