“I am definitely not a politician, but I have a lot to offer through my years in the financial services industry and, more importantly, my work in charitable and humanitarian organizations,” Ben said in a statement, according to the The Denver Post.

Ben, a Republican, will be challenging the incumbent Democratic Representative Dan Pabon (who was just sentenced to a one-year probation for a DUI, BTW) in this November’s general election.

It’s not totally clear yet what Ben’s political agenda is or what his party platform will look like, but his decision to run is already causing tons of drama among critics. Some claim the reality TV star is just looking to promote his new show with fiancé Lauren Bushnell, Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After, scheduled to air this fall.

One thing’s for sure, Ben definitely has the popular vote: His 335,000 followers on Twitter far exceed Dan’s measly 2,734.
