Women Are Calling Indiana’s Governor to Report Their Period Cramps

The law is designed to make abortions more difficult and costly for women—and one Indiana woman isn’t taking this lying down. The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, created a Facebook page called Periods for Pence, where women are encouraged to call the governor’s office and report on their periods.

Why? Well, technically they could be having a miscarriage and, under the new Indiana law, women could be at risk of a penalty if they don’t “properly dispose” or report this.

“The more I read this bill, the more vague language I found and the more loopholes, and it just seemed incredibly intrusive,” the page creator told Indianapolis’s WRTV. “So I wanted to give a voice for women who really didn’t feel like they were given any kind of input into a bill that would affect our life so much.”
