8 Annoying Things Your Partner Does While You’re Trying to Watch TV

It was a long day at the office, but here you are with a blanket on your legs and a kitty at your feet. Your bra is off, and your favorite show is on. This. Is. Heaven.

Or it would be if a certain someone who you love dearly/cohabitate with would stop messing up everything. Ugh. They should really know by now how serious you are about relaxing. Alas, time after time, they interrupt your programming with a not-so-important message.

Here are eight annoying things that your partner does when you’re just trying to get your TV time on.

1. Give Running Commentary
You agree that scene with Colin Farrell was a trip and you’re worried about Rachel McAdams, too, but how are you ever going to find out how this gets resolved if your boo won’t pause the play-by-play?

2. Make Fun of What You’re Watching
Yes, it’s just a reality show, and it’s probably scripted. But that’s part of the fun, okay? If you wanted to think about something thought-provoking, you’d read a book. Besides, Kaitlyn and Shawn seriously seem like they have a chance.

3. Try to Hook Up
You’re down to do it. Just…after you find out who did it.

4. Ask What’s for Dinner
Can’t they see that you’re busy? If they don’t want to watch this show, maybe they should get started in the kitchen themselves.

5. Constantly Try to Get Clarification
It’s not your problem that they didn’t study for tonight’s season finale. They’ve had OnDemand since day one.

6. Beg to Change the Channel
There’s only one remote control, and you’re holding it.

7. Fall Asleep
How is this supposed to be “you guys’ show” if you have to spend the entire time nudging them and filling them in on all of the good parts? If this keeps up, you’re revoking their throw pillow privileges.

8. Suddenly Perk Up When There Are Boobs on the Screen
Apparently, they’d have been on-board since day one if the show was just called Orange is the New Boobs.
