A drug-free option to improve male sexual performance

For men struggling with sexual dysfunction, a drug-free shot may be a solution.

The Priapus Shot, or P-Shot, is designed to improve the sexual health of men, especially those struggling with performance due to factors such as poor circulation, prostate cancer, diabetes, surgery and medication side effects.

“I recommend the P-Shot to my clients because it’s a quick and relatively pain-free procedure that has provided lasting and dramatic results for men who want a better sex life,” said Dr. George Liakeas, medical director of Smooth Synergy Medical Spa and Lexington Medical Associates in New York City.

The P-Shot is a platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy, which uses the patient’s own blood platelets to kickstart growth and promote healing.

“When the PRP is isolated and injected into the penis, both tissue and blood-vessel growth are promoted, leading to improved erectile strength and penile sensitivity,” Liakeas said.

During the P-Shot procedure, the patient’s blood is drawn and the PRP is extracted using a centrifuge designed specifically for the purposes of separating the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood. A topical anesthetic cream is applied to the penis. Then, the patient’s own PRP is injected with a tiny needle into the areas of the penis responsible for sexual responsiveness. PRP works by activating the body’s growth factors, which allows the P-Shot to revitalize and rejuvenate the penis. The entire procedure takes about 30 minutes with side-effects typical of an injection, such as the possibility of minimal bruising, Liakeas said.

“The benefits of the P-Shot include tissue growth, which can lead to an increase of the length and girth of the penis, as well as the growth of new blood vessels, which can result in improved circulation and blood flow, increased sensation and pleasure because of better nerve sensitivity, and enhanced performance due to stronger erections,” Liakeas said. “Patients have reported immediate and lasting improvement of their sexual health following the P-Shot.”

According to doctors, results are noticed in one to two weeks and last for about a year.  There is no downtime after the shot. Patients can return to work and be sexually active whenever they’d like to.

The P-Shot is similar to the O-Shot for women, and the two can be used in conjunction with couples therapy.  This treatment is similar to those used to repair tendons in athletes.

The treatment costs $1,900 and is not covered by insurance.
