Hong Kong (HKSAR) – The Education Bureau today (March 10) announced the appointment of two new members to the Quality Education Fund Investment Committee (QEFIC):
* Ms Clarea Au Suet-ming, Chairperson of CAAL Capital Limited
* Mr Plato Yip Kwong-to, Managing Director of PS Investment Management (HK) Limited
Their appointments will take effect from March 11, 2014, for a term of two years.
The Secretary for Education, Mr Eddie Ng Hak-kim, took this opportunity to thank the outgoing member, Mr Tee Choon-hong, for his valuable contributions to the QEFIC in the last four years.
The QEF was established in early 1998 with a capital of $5 billion to fund community initiatives which promote quality education in Hong Kong. The QEFIC is responsible for formulating policies for and monitoring the investment of the Fund.
Since its establishment, the Fund has supported over 8 300 projects with a total grant amounting to over $4 billion.
