A positive body image goes beyond liking your looks. It encompasses taking good care of yourself and leading a fulfilling life. In this weekly series, I share some of my favorite posts from some of my favorite bloggers on this topic. Sometimes I also share relevant pieces that I’ve written on the Web. Hope you find these links inspiring!

Making Saturdays slow — on purpose. Where in your days can you slow down and savor?

Create your own spa day at home.

Giving yourself a meaningful term of endearment. According to Rachel:

Having a name, rooted in love, to call ourselves gives us a foothold. When we’re in pain or feeling disconnected all we need to is reach for this name and it brings us back. It’s a name laced with maternal affection and eternal care.

Having a term of endearment for ourselves helps to build safety and intimacy in the most important relationship we’ll ever have: us with ourselves. me with me. you with you.

Failure isn’t real. Rosie writes:

What if you changed your mind? Gave failure and imperfect up.  Realized that things just are- some relationships last, others don’t; some jobs are offered, others aren’t; some words we use sail through without hitting a nerve; sometimes the words we choose do hit nerves- and that difficult situations aren’t a crucible for judgment.  They are meant to give us information.

When we encounter something that goes differently than we might have imagined, it doesn’t mean we have failed.  It simply means we have the opportunity to learn something.

A surprising technique for sparking your creativity.

Let go of the label of trying to be a mindful person, and instead strive for more mindful moments.

On saying yes. Shauna writes:

Say yes to jumping off a cliff. Literally. Say yes to telling the ugly beautiful raw truth about your life. Say yes to friendships that are built in an instant. Say yes to scrambling over rocks so that you can scream up into a waterfall, voices swallowed up in the roar of the water. Say yes to middle of the night conversations and jumping in with your clothes on.

The first step toward happiness.

The photos we need to take.

In this video Jen shares why it isn’t about permission. (Love her insight!!)
