Cloudflare enhances cybersecurity offerings with new Unified Risk Posture suite – Business

Content delivery network provider Cloudflare Inc. today announced a new suite of cybersecurity risk management capabilities designed to help enterprises enforce their risk postures automatically and dynamically across their attack surfaces.

Called Cloudflare for Unified Risk Posture, the new capabilities, served via Cloudflare’s single unified platform, allow organizations to evaluate risk across users and applications, exchange risk indications and enforce automated risk controls.

Through the new offering, Cloudflare evaluates the risk posed by people via user entity and behavior analytics models and risks to applications, application programming interfaces and websites via malicious payload, zero-day or previously unknown threat and bot detection models. Cloudflare also ingests risk scores from best-in-class endpoint protection and identity provider partners and shares telemetry back with security information and event management and extended detection and response platforms for further analysis via one unified API.

Automated risk controls, based on dynamic first and third-party risk scores, see Cloudflare enforcing resilient, consistent risk controls for people, applications and networks across any location around the world.

The new suite converges capabilities across Cloudflare’s Secure Access Services Edge and web application and API security portfolios into its global network control plane. With the new suite, customers can take advantage of the risk management functionality built into these existing portfolios and do not need to purchase any separate subscriptions.

The convergence of capabilities is part of addressing issues in existing point solutions that lock down specific risks and attack vectors. Cloudflare argues that over time, organizations have become laden with too many services with limited ability to talk to one another and build a more holistic view of risk, along with creating information overload for security staff .

More recent technologies like SIEM and XDR platforms play a critical role in aggregating risk data across environments and mitigating threats based on analysis. However, Cloudflare notes that these tools still demand expertise and resources to operate effectively, so they do not add more overhead.
