Code reuse platform startup Crowdbotics Inc. today unveiled a new collaboration with Microsoft Corp. and the general availability of its CodeOps platform.

The collaboration sees Microsoft bring expertise in cloud services and artificial intelligence for a new AI-based approach for accelerating application development through systematic code reuse. The companies will work together to help customers boost the speed and efficiency of building new enterprise applications on Microsoft Azure.

Code reuse is core to the Crowdbotics CodeOps platform launched in March. The methodology emphasizes systematic code reuse powered by artificial intelligence and acts as a complement to DevSecOps by focusing on leveraging reusable code for commonly duplicated features. Reusable code is a segment of code that can be efficiently recycled and incorporated into different software applications to reduce development time and effort.

“Collaborating with Crowdbotics allows us to give customers more options for developing applications while saving time and resources,” said Gustavo Blum, general manager of Global Partner Solutions at Microsoft. “Microsoft Azure and our investments in AI, combined with Crowdbotics’ methodology for systematic code reuse, provides customers with a new, powerful set of tools for delivering digital transformation and building the apps that move the needle.”

Along with the Microsoft collaboration, Crowdbotics also announced the GA of its CodeOps platform, an AI-powered solution that allows for systematic code reuse by building on top of a customer’s existing DevSecOps processes.

The Crowdbotics platform is designed to help customers get the most out of the code they’ve already written by helping them avoid reinventing the wheel. The platform uses AI to accelerate each step of the development lifecycle, improving the product requirements documentation process and delivering benefits all the way through to deployment.

The ability to reuse code is also not a small one, with Crowdbotics claiming that its service can reuse 70% of code that has already been written for other projects. With its features, the company says, the platform accelerates time to value and reduces risk for enterprise application development.

Founder and Chief Executive Anand Kulkarni said the relationship with Microsoft, “combined with the general availability of our flagship CodeOps platform, gives organizations access to the tools they need to speed up app development so they can focus on other areas of innovation.”

Crowdbotics is a venture capital-backed startup, having last raised $40 million in funding in January 2023. Investors include New Enterprise Associates Inc., Jackson Square Ventures LLC, Homebrew Management LLC, Bee Partners LP and Harrison Metal LLC.
