YugabyteDB Becomes First Distributed SQL Database Vendor to Complete CIS Benchmark

Yugabyte, the company behind the open-source distributed SQL database, YugabyteDB, announced that the Center for Internet Security (CIS) has published a benchmark report on the YugabyteDB database. 

The CIS benchmark report, which was compiled in collaboration with the Yugabyte security team, highlights Yugabyte’s commitment to enabling its customers to successfully define and implement a comprehensive security program using Yugabyte’s distributed PostgreSQL database solution. 

Users of open-source databases can use the CIS-recommended security configurations and operational best practices in the report to better protect business-critical data, avoid cybersecurity gaps, and better meet regulatory compliance requirements.

The CIS benchmark report analyzed YugabyteDB database architecture, components, and potential security risks, and provided a comprehensive set of security guidelines specifically for the Yugabyte database.

The globally recognized CIS benchmark reports are developed by cybersecurity experts and consist of more than 100 secure configuration guidelines. The objective of the benchmark reports is to guide security practitioners in effectively configuring, implementing, and managing their cybersecurity defenses for cloud platforms, cloud services, databases, network devices, and other systems and platforms.
