Cute Maternity Clothes Will Soon Be Available for RENT

You know what’s not cute? Spending a small fortune on maternity clothes that you’re going to have no use for in a few months. That’s why we were so pumped to hear that Le Tote, a fashion rental subscription service, is going to start stocking maternity clothing this fall.

Here’s how it works: For $59 a month, you can borrow three items of maternity clothing and two accessories. When you’re tired of the picks you have, which are chosen from a “closet” that you curate online, you just mail them back and get a new tote with five new items (think of the old Netflix model, when you’d get DVDs in the mail, keep them for as long as you wanted, and then send them back when you were done watching them).

And if you can’t part with something that comes in your tote, you can buy it for a special member price, which is typically marked down 20-50 percent from the retail price. (Le Tote’s regular subscription service works the same way but is $49 a month.)

“When we first started Le Tote [in 2013], my wife was pregnant with our daughter and was constantly borrowing and swapping maternity clothes with her friends,” said Rakesh Tondon, CEO and cofounder of Le Tote, in a press release. “We knew then there was a massive need for a service like Le Tote in the maternity space.”

The brand’s maternity totes will offer up clothes from brands like Olian Maternity, Maternal America, Lilac Clothing, Tart Collections, Summer Sage, and Urban Ma. Cara Loren Van Brocklin, a fashion designer, blogger, and mother of two, will also be designing maternity wear exclusively for Le Tote.

So now you know: If you want to rock stylish outfits through your pregnancy, make sure to time your bun in the oven so you don’t start needing bigger clothes until this fall!
