WHAT TO DO
Stomach crunches are great for strengthening abs at the top of your stomach, which helps with daily tasks such as getting out of bed and rising from a deep chair, says Nadya Fairweather, founder of u-shape.co.uk.
The key is head position. Place hands at your temples or link them behind you to make a hammock for your head.

Imagine holding an apple under your chin to stop you pulling your head forward.
Breathe in and lift head, shoulders and upper back off the floor, exhaling as you do so. Then lower back down.
Keep your moves slow, controlled and steady. Try to do 12-15; rest for a minute, then repeat. Do three sets.

WHAT TO EAT
Show off a toned tummy with foods that ease bloating, says nutritionist Eve Kalinik (evekalinik.com).
If bloating is persistent, see your GP, but consuming good sources of fibre and filling two-thirds of your plate with fresh colourful vegetables such as peppers and beetroot helps to boost digestion.

Try to sip water throughout the day and avoid drinking large glasses of liquid at mealtimes, as this can impair digestion and create bloating symptoms.
You might also try adding some bitter foods before a meal to stimulate digestion, such as a small rocket salad or papaya 15-20 minutes before breakfast.
This helps promote digestive enzymes and assists with breaking down food.
