Hong Kong Customs seizes cocaine and heroin at airport

Hong Kong (HKSAR) – Customs officers yesterday (February 13) seized about 378 grammes of cocaine and 759 grammes of heroin at the Hong Kong International Airport, with a total estimated market value of $1 million. A female passenger was arrested.

The arrestee, aged 51, was an incoming passenger arriving at Hong Kong from Uganda, via Doha, Qartar.

She was suspected to put the drugs in a checked-in suitcase with an aim to evade Customs’ detection. She will be charged with one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug and will appear at the Tuen Mun Magistrates’ Courts tomorrow (February 15).

Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence.
